Graduated in Architecture in Genoa, where he subsequently took a PhD at the ADD-UniGe School on the urban impacts of over-tourism effect on the Mediterranean coast.

After fifteen years of professional career as an architect, always completed with research and teaching activities, he is now Associate Professor in Urbanism at the Department Architecture and Design (DAD) of the University of Genoa, where he teaches not only in urban planning laboratories, but also in courses on “Urban systems and new technologies”, “Urban responsive design” and “Urban theories and innovation”.

He is currently director of the GIC.lab (Genoa Intelligent City) research cluster founded by Manuel Gausa, is a member of the ADD Doctoral Board in Architecture and Design, is part of CIELI (Italian Center of Excellence on Logistics, Transport and Infrastructure) and is a member of the Management Committee for the Advanced Training Course in Scientific Dissemination for Cultural Heritage (d: cult-IANUA).

In addition to being the scientific manager of various funded research on innovation and urban regeneration processes, he is enrolled in the Register of Experts in Technological Innovation established at MIMIT – Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy with specific skills in the sectors: Smart city and smart communities; Smart urban mobility systems for people; Systems and applications for tourism, the enjoyment of culture and Made in Italy.
